Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Turkey day to all! Let us not forget the attendees from the 1st Thanksgiving - Pilgrams and Indians. Pilgrams came to America to obtain religious freedoms, we should all say a pray of Thanks for our religious freedoms today.

2nd topic: Bush's polls numbers. We are not all against Bush. The looney left is unchanged from forever in their view of Bush. Conservatives are strong with Bush in Iraq and most issues, but are not happy with the mass spending and his waffling on issues that matter to most of us, such as a strong conservative on the sumpreme court. If an election was held today, we certainly would rally beside George unless he was running against a Republican named Reagan.

Engineers & scientists

Hi all,
I just read an article in Forbes about the graduation rates of Engineers & Scientists in the USA. It is pretty scary stuff. The number of engineering degrees issued in the USA for students from India and China was down about 45% from 10 years ago. So what, you may ask? I'll tell why it matters. Because the USA can not get enough USA born Engineers & Scientists. Our society doesn't adequate reward engineers. Without foreign engineers working in the USA after graduation, how will the USA continue to lead the world in innovation and technology ?

China and India now offer good alernatives to a USA education. They have a focus and reward system that encourages smart people to become engineers. The USA must start rewarding our brightest talents when they focus on disaplines that are essential for the USA's future well being.

PS. I am an engineer, but stand by the logic above even if I was not...
